Mission

Christian Mentoring Association [CMA] aims to create fruitful partnerships between NC State students so we may succeed spiritually, emotionally, and academically

What makes CMA different?

CMA is a trusting family we laugh, eat, dance, confide in one another, and hold one another accountable.

What sets us apart is that our small organization creates a safe space. We understand that God is still working on all of us. Whether it is sin, a situation, or a relationship CMA is a place where you can be honest and be treated with love and understanding. Our main source of mentoring is through encouragement and sharing our own testimonies.

Programs

There will be one program each month.
We will host 3 types of programs:
  1. Fellowship Programs

    • Fellowship comes from the Greek word, KOINONIA, which means “to share in common.” CMA wishes to join together in love during fellowship programs and share and encourage one another.

    • 1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”(ESV)

    • 1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”(ESV)

  2. “Iron sharpens iron” Programs

    • There is mutual benefit in the rubbing of two iron blades together; the edges become sharper.  Through conversational studies CMA will sharpen one another's minds, so like sharp knives we will be more efficent.

    • Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”(NIV)

  3. Worship Programs

    • CMA will express inner gratitude and affection for God through worship in the form of music and prayer.

    • We worship God because He created us. We worship God because He gave us His Son Christ Jesus to die for our sins. We worship God because He has promised us eternal life with Him in heaven and on the new earth. We worship God because we love Him.

    • John 4:23-24 “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”(NIV)

Community Outreach:

We will focus on evangelism and volunteer work.

  • Matthew 28:18-20 "Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'”(NIV)
